Grades 9 to 12, with the records
Is there a secular homeschool curriculum for high school that gives a transcript?
Clareza Academy is a secular high school homeschool curriculum with 30 courses for grades 9 to 12, from Algebra I and Biology to Precalculus, Physics and Government, and it logs hours and prints a transcript as your teenager works, though it is not accredited and does not issue a diploma.
The four years
Grade 9: English 9, Algebra I, Biology, World Geography, Health, Personal Finance, Spanish I and PE. Grade 10: English 10, Geometry, Chemistry, a world history survey from about 1200 to the present, Spanish II, Computer Science Principles, Speech and Communication, and Seeing and Meaning, an art history course for the fine arts credit. Grade 11: American literature, Algebra II, Physics, United States History since 1877, Psychology and Creative Writing. Grade 12: English 12, Precalculus or Statistics, Environmental Science, Government, Economics, and Philosophy and Logic.
Four years of science
Biology runs 11 units and 98 skills, with evolution as a unit in the sequence. Chemistry was written for a kitchen: every investigation is kitchen-safe and needs no fume hood. Physics is algebra-based and assumes Algebra I and Geometry. Environmental Science is a fourth science for senior year.
The transcript keeps itself
Hours log per course as your teenager works, and grades are derived from mastery rather than assigned by the parent. The transcript prints on Clareza Academy letterhead with a GPA weighted by the hours actually worked.
Colleges and accreditation
Colleges in the United States admit homeschool graduates on transcript, portfolio and test scores, and accreditation of the curriculum is not something they require. The parent is the school of record. What helps is a transcript with recognisable course names and grades that come from real work, which is what this one prints.
One price, including high school
$29 a month covers every child in the household, with no different rate for high school. The first 30 days are free, with a card taken and nothing charged until day 30.
What this is not
- It is not accredited and it does not issue a diploma. The parent is the school of record.
- There are no AP courses, no dual enrolment and no live classes. A student who finishes a subject's top course needs another provider after it.
- Nothing here is legal advice on graduation requirements. Those are set by your state, and you should confirm them.
