Free printable math units
Where can I find free printable homeschool math lessons with answers?
Clareza Academy gives away four complete printable math units, each the first unit of a grade-level course: Grade 1 counting and the number line, Grade 3 multiplication, Grade 4 place value to one million, and Grade 6 ratios and rates, every one with answers and with no email and no account needed to download it.
Grade 1: Counting, Comparing, and the Number Line
Eight lessons in a 32-page PDF: counting a set of objects to 20, the count sequence to 120 with bundles of ten, counting on, comparing two groups and the number line as a counting path. Find it at /free/grade-1-math.
Grade 3: Equal Groups, Arrays, and the Meaning of Multiplication
Eight lessons in 33 pages: equal groups, arrays, factor and product, why 3 × 4 is 4 × 3, word problems within 100, and where "multiplication is repeated addition" stops working. Find it at /free/grade-3-math.
Grade 4: Place Value to One Million
Eight lessons in 39 pages: what a digit is worth up to 1,000,000, standard, expanded and word form, comparing big numbers, and rounding to any place with a reason for the decision. Find it at /free/grade-4-math.
Grade 6: Ratios and Rate Reasoning
Eight lessons in 43 pages: ratio language, ratio tables, the double number line, unit rate, and percent as a rate per hundred. Find it at /free/grade-6-math.
What every unit contains, and what comes next
Each lesson has a short script for the parent, a page to read together and a practice sheet, with answers. Unit 2 of each course is free as well and arrives by email a week after you ask: What the Equals Sign Really Means (Grade 1), Division, Fact Families, and Fluency Within 100 (Grade 3), Multi-Digit Addition and Subtraction (Grade 4) and Dividing Fractions (Grade 6). The full courses are readable in full on the site, and the math sequence runs from kindergarten to Precalculus and Statistics.
What this is not
- It is four grades, not every grade. There is no free printable math unit for kindergarten, Grade 2, Grade 5 or Grades 7 to 12.
- It is two units per course, not a year. The rest of each course is part of the paid curriculum, at $29 a month for the family after 30 free days.
- Printed sheets are checked by you, against the answers. Nothing is graded or recorded until your child works in the app.
