Geometry at home
What is a good homeschool geometry curriculum, with proofs?
One that teaches proof step by step, not only formulas, and covers congruence, similarity, coordinate geometry, right triangle trigonometry, circles and volume. Clareza Academy's Geometry: Structure, Proof, and Measurement is a full-year course with 8 units and 74 skills.
What it covers
Transformations and congruence, triangle congruence and proof, similarity, coordinate geometry, right triangle trigonometry, circles, three-dimensional measurement, and geometric probability.
Proofs, one step at a time
Your teen writes two-column proofs about lines, angles and triangles, plans proofs for new claims, and writes coordinate proofs. Clara, the teacher built into every lesson, works through each proof with them and explains where one went wrong.
Where it sits
It comes after Algebra I and before Algebra II. Physics in Grade 11 expects Algebra I and Geometry first.
What this is not
- It is not an honors course, and Clareza is not accredited.
- Clara is an AI and can be wrong about a proof. Read your teen's proofs now and then yourself.
- There is no live class or human tutor.

Questions parents ask
Does it teach two-column proofs?
Yes, along with planning a proof for a new claim and coordinate proofs.
Should geometry come before or after Algebra 2?
In Clareza, before: Algebra I, then Geometry, then Algebra II.
Does it include trigonometry?
Right triangle trigonometry, yes. The unit circle and trig functions are in Precalculus.
