Shelves, folders, finished work
How do I keep homeschool materials and paperwork organized?
Give everything one home: a shelf or bin per child for what they are using now, one folder or binder per child for finished work, and one place, paper or digital, for the plan and the records. Keep a few samples per subject each term and recycle the rest.
Only what is in use
Keep this term's books and supplies within reach and box the rest. One bin per child, with their books, a pencil case and their folder, is often all a first grader needs.
Finished work
Keep a few pieces per subject per term, such as one from the start, middle and end, which shows progress. Photograph big projects and art, then let them go.
Workbooks and online together
Keep one short log, a line a day, for work done on paper or away from a screen. Online programs usually keep their own records, so note where each one keeps them. Official records and transcripts are at /homeschool-curriculum/homeschool-records-transcripts-and-hours.
Where Clareza helps
For its own courses, hours log while your child works and the dashboard shows what was worked on and mastered. You can add offline hours to a Clareza course with the activity and date, and they are listed separately from app time.
What Clareza does not do
- It only keeps records for its own courses. Work in other curricula stays in your own log.
- It does not store photos or scans of paper work. Offline hours are a line with an activity and date.
- Clara's conversations are kept for 30 days, so they are not part of the long-term record.

Questions parents ask
How much of my child's work should I keep?
A few samples per subject each term, plus anything your state asks for. Recycle the rest.
Should homeschool records be paper or digital?
Either works. What matters is that everything is in one place you can find.
Does Clareza keep my child's offline work?
It keeps the hours you add to a Clareza course, with the activity and date. It does not store the papers.
