A comparison written by one of the two
Clareza Academy vs Math Mammoth
We make one of these, so read this the way you would read any comparison written by a seller. What we can do is be specific about our own product, accurate about the shape of theirs, and honest about where they are the better answer. Their current price is on their site, not on this page, and the reason is at the bottom.
What Math Mammoth is
Math Mammoth is a math curriculum written by Maria Miller, a former math teacher. Its best-known series is a set of worktexts, the explanation and the exercises on the same page, that move through topics in depth rather than in a spiral. It comes as PDF downloads or printed books and is known for being low-prep for the parent and focused on understanding.
The pricing difference that actually decides it
Math Mammoth is sold by grade level or topic, as downloads or printed books, bought once and reusable within the family under its own terms. Check their site for current options.
Clareza is $29 a month for every child in the household, month to month, with no per-child seats and no course limits. That is $348 a year whether you have one child or four, or $290 a year on the annual plan. The first 30 days are free, a card is taken and nothing is charged until day 30, and cancelling before then costs nothing.
The comparison to run is the same either way: monthly price, times the number of children, times twelve.

- You want paper worktexts your child can read and do on their own. Math Mammoth is built for that. Clareza is on screen.
- You want to keep screen time low. Math Mammoth needs no device once it is printed.
- You only need math. Math Mammoth is a focused math program, and Clareza is priced as a whole curriculum.
Where Clareza is different
Someone explains the wrong answer
In a worktext, a wrong answer is found when the key is checked. In Clareza, Clara reads the answer as it is given and explains what went wrong in it. She is an AI and can be wrong.
Read aloud for young children
In kindergarten, math runs on screen with the questions read aloud and answers tapped, so a child who cannot read yet can still work.
Every subject for one price
$29 a month covers math and every other subject for every child in the household.

Questions parents ask
Is Math Mammoth or Clareza better for an independent child?
Both can work. Math Mammoth suits a child who reads well and likes paper. Clareza suits a child who does better with someone explaining each mistake, and from kindergarten the questions can be read aloud.
Can we use Math Mammoth with Clareza?
Yes. Some families keep a worktext for math and use Clareza for the other subjects, or the other way round.

Why there is no price for Math Mammoth on this page
We checked in September 2026 and the sources contradicted each other, including the companies' own pages against the review sites. Publishing a competitor's price that turns out to be wrong is unfair to them and useless to you, and any figure here would be out of date within a month anyway. Ours is above, because it is ours and we can stand behind it. Theirs is one click away, on their site, where it is current.
