A comparison written by one of the two
Clareza Academy vs ABCmouse
We make one of these, so read this the way you would read any comparison written by a seller. What we can do is be specific about our own product, accurate about the shape of theirs, and honest about where they are the better answer. Their current price is on their site, not on this page, and the reason is at the bottom.
What ABCmouse is
ABCmouse, from Age of Learning, is an early-learning app for young children covering reading, math, science and art through games, songs and activities on a guided path with rewards.
The pricing difference that actually decides it
It is a subscription. Check their site for the current plans.
Clareza is $29 a month for every child in the household, month to month, with no per-child seats and no course limits. That is $348 a year whether you have one child or four, or $290 a year on the annual plan. The first 30 days are free, a card is taken and nothing is charged until day 30, and cancelling before then costs nothing.
The comparison to run is the same either way: monthly price, times the number of children, times twelve.

- Your child is a preschooler. ABCmouse starts younger than Clareza, whose first course is kindergarten.
- You want a broad, playful app for a young child more than a structured reading course.
Where Clareza is different
A taught reading course
Learning to Read teaches every sound explicitly in a set order, starting with s, a, t and p, and ends with your child reading the first sentence of a real book from your house.
Built for a child who cannot read yet
The app reads every question aloud and never reads the answer words. Your child shows they can read by tapping the right printed word, so the tap is the reading, with nothing to type.
It keeps going after kindergarten
The same family price covers every course to Grade 12, so a child who starts reading here moves on to Grade 3 English and beyond.
One price for the household
$29 a month covers every child in the family and every course from kindergarten to Grade 12, so the reading course is not a separate purchase.

Questions parents ask
Is Clareza for preschool?
Not really. The first courses are kindergarten. For a younger child, play, read-alouds and an app like ABCmouse may fit better.
Does my kindergartner use Clareza alone?
Phonics and math run mostly on screen with you close by. Science and social studies are short activities you do together.

Why there is no price for ABCmouse on this page
We checked in September 2026 and the sources contradicted each other, including the companies' own pages against the review sites. Publishing a competitor's price that turns out to be wrong is unfair to them and useless to you, and any figure here would be out of date within a month anyway. Ours is above, because it is ours and we can stand behind it. Theirs is one click away, on their site, where it is current.
